James,
I think your site will help you as much or more then it might help others. Great start mate. With regards to a ballest tank designed for better surface staybility in the ocean. I've been working on a bolt on wing platform for much more freeboard walking area, underwater gliding, and attachment points at the wing tips for sponsons/pontoons that can be either hard or soft ballest tanks. Total width would be just under eight feet for trailerablity and could also have a heavy string sytem where the wing attaches to the main hull to limit some types of stresses. I'm working on this design for attaching to a K-250 that hopefully will get restored this year, but it would also likely work well on a K-350. I'll get the CAD work done and see what you think.
Regards,
Brent

But i will ask those as i go along. For now ive got to get down to getting these rings all welded up. Its a pretty big and dull job right at the start.
Ive been keeping up with your Alvin Jr as youve been posting pictures. I like the design of your main tanks. My sub will operate here in Guernsey and the wave conditions can get relativly rough (compared to a lake), so i'm pretty sure im going to have to modify the design of the standard k350 tanks to accomodate this as well. But im a way off that yet.

Yes! The Jolly-Roger and of course the "Acme Submarines" is just intended to be a bit light hearted on the web site!
