[PSUBS-MAILIST] 2006 Awards voting is open

Hi All,

As usual I am running off schedule. :)

Here are the 2006 Award Nominations! As you can see
they are sparse. The only categories to vote on are
"The Kittredge Award" and "The Beach Award".

Even though I originally said there would be no voting
I am now ready for your votes. Please place your votes
by sending me a message either directly
(ray@psubs.org) or via the list
(personal_submersibles@psubs.org). I would like to
have all votes in by Thursday, 18 January 2007. One
vote allowed per person per category.

I will tally and announce the winners by Thursday, 25
January 2007. Bug me if I don't.

I will be the tie breaker in case there is an even
vote.

Actual awards to go out by the end of February.

Award Categories
================

The Kittredge Award
-------------------
For designing and building excellence in creating
a whole and functional personal submersible.

        George Kittredge
            Nominated by:
               Stan Freihof

Note that George has received a "2001
Lifetime
Achievement Award" in the past. Also it
would
be kind of tacky to get an award that
honor
            yourself.

        Küsters family
            Nominated by:
                Emile - For building Nemo

The Busby Award
---------------
For excellence in technical writing on personal
        submersibles designs, operations and
        applications.

        Jon Wallace
            Nominated by:
                Emile

Declined by Jon. He got one last
year and is a PSUBS LLC Member.

The Beach Award
---------------
For non-technical writing that promotes personal
	submersibles to the general public.

        Alec Smyth
            Nominated by:
Doug Farrow - For organizing the 2006
PSUBS Convention

        Peter Blazejewicz
            Nominated by:
Emile - For organizing the Copenhagen
convention

The Link Award
--------------
For contributions to oceanographic research using
	personal submersibles.

The Archimedes Award
--------------------
For innovative designing excellence of a specific
piece of gear for use in personal submersibles
that spreads knowledge through the group .

For those who haven't seen past awards, go to
http://www.psubs.org/awards/. The new plaques will be
a different style because of the technical issues with
getting the 2005 plaques made, long story. Still I'll
strive to make them just as cool.

Regards,
Ray
