I adore your chemical method of absorption. I think it will be much more effective than an condensation method. at least over a shorter time span which is what is trying to be achieved. I still think that moving your humidity saturated air will be more better dehydrated over a larger service area than a small filter.

The question here then George, would be rate of condensation vs rate of absorption for the chemical. Perhaps data alone can answer this or testing may be required.
