Nope! I never had any problem with the
public. A lot of looks and questions but so far everyone has been
respectful of my property. Not to say there isn't a jerk out there, but I
haven't encountered one yet.
But just incase, I have a place on my hatch cover
where I can install a pad lock, if the sub is going to sit in a hotel parking
lot over night.

Since I'm not (yet!) an owner of a psub, I have a question for
those of you that do:
How well does the general public "respect" your sub? For
example: You've got your K-350 on the trailer and you stop at a gas station
before heading to your favorite dive spot. Obviously, people are going to
stare. More than likely, you'll get a few comments and questions. My
concern is, do people walk up and start messing around with it... like moving
the rudder around or spinning the props? I've even wondered if some
unthinking person wouldn't try to get in it and play around with the
controls.
