Hi All,
I've finished viewport flange # 1 and am now moving on to flange #2 , this
next one will be done here at home on the new lathe !! so far the chips
have been flying very well.
My lenses on those 8 will be 1.5" thick by 6" dia and they are flat
lenses.
All 8 viewport flanges in the "conning tower" will
be the same, 7.5" od . I'm planning on two other
viewports also, one in each of my two hatches. My question is if I make
those viewports with a conical acrylic lense can the acrylic be thinner ?
I would like to have a lower profile for the hatch viewports. Does anybody
know the strenght comparison between the two types of lenses for similar sized
viewports?
