Hi Chuck.
Here's a few sites with a little more info on that
sub on the beach in Panama.
It seems the operators of this sub were among the
first deaths from decompression sickness
from diving from a pressurized lockout in the sub.
This sub was built during the civil war and offered
to the Union but was refused by them. It was taken
to the islands and used for pearl diving where it killed
its crew from the bends. I sure would like to see
it recovered and displayed in a museum. It is in pretty bad shape
but it should be recovered before it gets even
worse.
Bill.
