Here's a few sites with a little more info on that sub on the beach in Panama.
 
It seems the operators of this sub were among the first deaths from decompression sickness
 
from diving from a pressurized lockout in the sub. This sub was built during the civil war and offered
 
to the Union but was refused by them. It was taken to the islands and used for pearl diving where it killed
 
its crew from the bends. I sure would like to see it recovered and displayed in a museum. It is in pretty bad shape
 
but it should be recovered before it gets even worse.
