I received word (below) back from Nautical Niche
about their semi submersible called the "Yellow Sub".
Not really a sub at all but a boat with a
submerged viewing cabin pod under the boat. Here's the link again
BB didn't answer ANY of my questions as you can see
below and I am still trying to find out more about this boat.
I searched online many different ways and only
found one short article about someone who had gone on the semi as
a tourist and had written a few sentences about it.
Otherwise I couldn't find anything more about it. I searched under
semi submersible, yellow submarine and glass bottom
boats. I found a lot about the beatles cartoon yellow submarine but nothing
on
this one. Does anyone here know what country or manufacturer makes this semi sub boat? This
particular boat looks like it could be
a candidate for modification to an ambient sub
possibly. She must already have significant weight to force the viewing pod
underwater.
Same thing you would have to do with an ambient
sub. She hangs from under the hull like a pendelum so stability would be good if
you
used the upperboat hull as a ballast
tank.
If the upper boatworks were not foam filled and the
boat hull could be flooded and a hatch secured over the viewing pod, along with

thrusters, air supply etc and everything else
needed to create an ambient sub, I think this boat would lend itself to ambient
modification
and possibly preclude you having to build the main
part of the sub. Too bad they do not already offer it as a surface boat AND an
ambient
sub.

Subject: RE: Interested in one of your boats. Bill Akins Hi Bill, Thanks for your interest in the Yellow Sub. Herein lies a problem. I have offered this neat looking product for more than a couple years. Unfortunately, I have determined it is virtually impossible to sell this item site unseen. The bad news is that it has not been seen in the USA as of yet, and I have yet to visit overseas to inspect it first hand. BB
