I have contacted a Minn Kota sales agent and he helped me pick the motors,
after 10 emails we concluded that my best choice was to buy 4 motors instead
of 3, because they don?t have any 3HP motors I will have to use 2 1.79HP
motors to reach the desired power, the thing is that these motors are 36V
and the 1/2HP are 12V so I'm going to buy four identical motors all 1.79HP
and redesign the electrics for the sub to 36 volts, increasing the power to
the side thrusters should not be a problem because for this motors design
I'm not increasing speed, I'm increasing acceleration. What do you guys
think? I think it will work

Thanks for the link.
What was Minn-Kota say when they are asked about this? Exactly
what does the pounds of thrust number mean? Is it pounds per
second?
