I wonder if anybody here has current news or whereabouts for Bruce Davies. Bruce was an oceanographic person that worked at NOAA's Pacific Marine Environmental Labs at Sand Point in Seattle back in late '70s. He owned two personal subs.
One was a homebuilt two person sub using a steel sphere
(mine net float?) by a guy in Edmonds, WA.
The other was a one person fiberglass hulled sub with a plexiglass dome for conning tower and hatch. I had occasion once to be part of his crew as he put it in the waters of Lake Washington in 1981 or so. He put it in the water and then dove
it, later I had a chance to do it but managed to kick one of the hatch clips loose getting in so it wasn't safe to dive.
I lost track of hium about twenty years ago. I did hear later that he'd used one of the subs to inspect footings (?) for Hood Canal Floating Bridge.
