Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] For SilkyN, ambient breathing air system

Hi SilkyN.

I tried several times to send some links and drawing to you thru this forum. They did not go thru. So I posted two drawings at our moki picture exchange

showing a drawing of an automatic ambient pressure equalization system and also a drawing of its schematic. Here's the link to moki, the pics should be at the top of the page.

You could use a system like this and have the scuba regulator as a backup system.

I hope this one goes thru. Let me know if you get this SilkyN.

Hope this helps you.

Kindest regards,

Bill Akins.

Hi SilkyN.

I don't have an ambient sub SilkyN. I have a two seater, open cockpit wetsub. I breath thru a normal scuba regulator.

Actually I did answer your post from a few days ago. I even sent you two drawings of an automatic air system for an ambient sub

but for some reason that post must not have gone thru. Here are the two links to those drawings again.

Kindest Regards,

Bill Akins.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] ambient breathing air system

Hey Adkins,
i posted a question to the mail list a few days ago about choice of air
regulators, it didnt get any replys. perhaps it didnt send properly, maby my
poor english detered people or maby everyone was engaged in the act of
defending the work of heave (or similar name) and trying to deter further...
... i hope that minor glich will soon be forgotten.

i recall that u have an ambient sub. could you tell me about the air
regulator system that you have in your sub?.

i was originaly thinking of using a regulator and airflow meter like the
ones on handheld weather stations IE fan + rpm counter + chip to calculate
then display results on small screen. however the more i think about that
idea the more i feel like a moron(am I?). then someone mentioned a digital
regulator displaying the volume!! i have searched several times but cant
find any product that tells me the volume. which is the problem!

So how are you guys doing it?

i feel stupid because i could just use a modifyed scuba regulator, i know
someone who made thr breathing air system like this but i would prefer a
static valve of some sort.
