Hi Peter.
Not sure what material or thickness you need, but
in Tampa you can purchase different thicknesses of
rubber sheet from Tampa Rubber Inc and trace and
then cut out to size what you need. Usually a rubber distributor like
that
will have various rubber like materials depending
on your needs. I couldn't find a tailgate cover for my 1973 pickup truck I
restored
to showroom cond, so I went to Tampa Rubber Inc and
they had various thicknesses of rubber sheeting. I picked out a 3/16's of an
inch
sheet and they cut it to size for me. Fits my
pickup tailgate perfect and protects it like armour. I don't see why you
couldn't cut out an O ring
the same way. As a matter of fact, I was planning
to make an O ring for my 12 inch diameter pvc pipe wetsub battery pod this same
way if I ever need to use
it in place of a sea scooter for wetsub propulsion.
I would lay the pipe end down on the sheet, trace around the pipe onto the
rubber, then measure the thickness of the
pvc pipe walls and deduct that from the circle and
then cut the O ring out with a jigsaw.
Hope this helped.
Kindest Regards,
Bill Akins.

Idea "was" Sub form as a float ship normal
I'm here for the submarines, so I've deleted most of the
recent posts unread. It's better to increase the intelligence of your

I'd like to know how to get or
make a custom O-ring - anyone have advice for me?
