RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] K-350 Powder coating
Steve, No I own a machine shop these are pictures at the powder coater.
The cost was about $2000.00 for the inside, outside and the ballast tanks
and motor guards.
I thought that wasn't to bad you can't get a car
painted for that.
I was concerned about the heat they use to bake it on, about 400Deg but I
don't think that was to hot to hurt anything, Besides it probably needed a
little stress relieving anyway.
As far as curing time, the way I understand it.
They spray the powder on then bake it until it gets to temperature, then
let it cool off.
They had it about a week and they painted it four times.
Some kind of zinc primmer all over
white on the inside and two coats of yellow on the outside.
We had some machine guards here at the shop done and they take a lot of
abuse
from metal shaving and Coolants they seem to hold up pretty good.
Regards
Robby
