Hello Deric,

Try searching the pSubs archives for calcs and references to
software.  There are discussions on stiffeners and framing.
Listed also are XLS sheets and Gordon seems to
be grinding on calculations for his "ABSConicalHullCalcs.xls"

Refer to recent previous posts on ABS "Rules for Building and

I don't think there is a standard criteria for stiffener location. It's
a consideration that must be factored in for each individual's
unique hull design.  After factoring-in the hatch cover, viewports....etc.,
your reinforcement may go thru several design changes and placement
