Thanks for the response.
Technically I don't know, but they do have the same affect. The next section
in the handbook, "Emergency Surfacing System", seems to refer to this. I
probably will add a drop weight to my plan, just an extra safety feature.
My conceptual plan uses compressed air to blow the tanks. I have extra tanks
in the system for backup, as well as multiple lines into the tank for
redundant paths.
I wasn't sure if anyone used electricity to fill/empty the tank. At least
that's what the book eluded to. Perhaps a pump to speed the filling and
emptying tanks. Or perhaps an electrically operated valve to allow the water
and/or air in.
