Pierre,
I'm using Lifeline batteries, although in hindsight I should have gone with
Optimas as the Lifelines can only be charged upright. My main propulsion
batteries are two Lifeline 4Ds. They weigh 130 lbs each, which is the limit
of what I can lift without the shop crane -- on a good day and with a
breakfast of porridge! I have a smaller Lifeline 31 for the hotel loads.
To be honest I know there are lots of people who have used sealant on the
terminals as proposed, but I don't like the idea one bit. I particularly
think it would be a bad idea with Lifelines, because they have small holes,
with over-pressure valves inside. I don't know what external pressure those
valves would stand, and they are probably not designed for external
pressure. The Optimas on the other hand are truly sealed, so I suppose you
could try the sealed terminal approach on those. But personally I'd box
them.
thanks,
Alec

	Thanks Alec and Warren,
So, Optima is the big choice... What is your model of battery again Alec?
I'm planning to place the battery outside with-out battery pod. Just use
some urethane scealent on top of the terminals. What do you think about
	that?
	Thanks again!
