Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] price of steel up

It seems that the price increase is global. Of course Bush has (illegally
according to some) tried to make it so that Americans will only buy US
steel by adding a 5% (?) tariff to imported steel. When you see what is
happening to the Dollar against most other currencies, buying steel from
other countries is even less appealing, making it double pain for all in
inside the US who want to buy steel (high prices + weak dollar).

Hopefully the price won't stay too high for long.

If it has escaped your notice, other countries also have the talent to
produce quality steel and they might sell it cheaply. You could try to
find out which they are. Alternatively, the increase in price COULD be
due to continued imports using a VERY depreciated US dollar. Just a stab
in the dark.
