Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Re: Submarine Questions? (was "Hey, looky, rocket fuel as ballast!")
David,
Little ones. Not Navy subs, but the type civilians use.
Thanks for the list of websites. I looked at "plans for dummies" and found plans for a wet sub that I had seen here of late. What was interesting was that they listed it under the heading of "wacky" projects. I thought that said something kind of "off beat" about how some people see those who are interested in this sort of thing. Personally, I don't think wanting to build or own a submersible is wacky at all.
Best,
Gail

Big ones or little ones?
There are links at the psubs.org site, for sure: mostly on the
"Sources" page, I think. And the "Museums" page, too.
I would suggest also looking at the U.S. Navy's home pages for the
various submarines and the submarine service in general... If you're
after general information resources, I'd recommend a look at
howstuffworks.com and some of those "ask a scientist"-type sites.
Here's some links out of the "info" part of the "submarine" part of my
bookmarks. Warning: most of them haven't been checked recently, or
sorted very carefully. But there might be something good there. Sorry,
I couldn't figure a way to copy them with
their labels...
