While that is true, and I seem to recall it is N2 gas
from a catalyst powder, it happens rather fast. In
fact, so fast as to not leave the water in anything
other than a completely open bottomed tank time to
escape before hitting overpressure. In other words,
your tank will likely pop before it can drain. Not to
mention causing a good deal of strong, sudden movement
for the whole boat. Maybe even enough shock wave to
damage any parts that may live inside the BT. Another
potential downside is the powder being exposed to
water most likely would stop it from functioning
properly or even working at all. Perhaps if the
reaction were started inside a small, dry HP tank and
vented slower it would do nicely though.
