On my K-350 I have a float that rises to block off the snorkel when it is
submerged or gets a splash.  The float is a plastic plug that would remind
one of an inverted drinking glass.  It rises and falls in a stainless steel
tube.  If it floats up, it contacts a seat and blocks the port off.

I'm sure any plastic ball that will float and be firm enough not to get
forced into your snorkel at diving depth will work also.
