I think you understand the design. Yes, both the de-pressure and re-pressurization
has to be very careful. I know far to many friends that are dead or paralyzed from
decompression accidents. My experience with diver propulsion vehicles, dive sled,
and I suspect with "wet" sub, is because of their speed, it is very easy to ascend
to fast and cause decompression problems. A lot of fun but very dangerous.
