you need to be cautious when using a device for something it was never designed for...

in order in either case. I know of at least two cases where mineral oil is
used with common enameled wire, in transformers, and in submersible pump
motors. The oil filled submersible pump motors are not brush type motors
though, and I would be concerned that the oil saturation would not be
compatible with brush type motors. Two reasons: the oil may tend to
insulate the brush from the commutator, and residue from the brushes may
tend to contaminate the oil. Another concern would be wheather or not the
mineral oil was a suitable lubricant for the motor bearings.
