They use mineral oil in power transformers.   It also sets up a nice
convection current -- magically, as best I can figure.   

I know of a chap who's building a computer that will run in a 
bath of mineral oil.   The idea is the keep the oil moving over the 
processor to keep the chip cooled while he plays games.
