RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Ambient pressure design considerations

Title: Message
Of sorts....  It is an air environment. There is a big cockpit full of air (30 cu ft), you add more air to that, and as you do, other air bleeds off because you maintain 30 cu ft. Therefore, you are partially rebreathing some of your air. It's not like a scuba reg where you exhale and the air is gone.

Wow, that seems really low.  90 cu ft/hr is 1.5 cu ft/min divided by 3 people is 0.5 cu ft/min/person.  That's one fourth of what NOAA recommends for a person at rest.

Apparently the Sport Sub design has evolved since I did my research on it.  You say there's a rebreather of sorts?  Can you define the sorts?  Do they use a CO2 absorbent?

Also, are you familiar with how the automatic ballast system works?  I have not been able to find any information on it.

Thanks...

Stan

The SportSub's flow rate is 90 cu ft of air per hour for 3 people. It is a rebreather system of sorts.
