Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] K-250 questions about the acrylic dome

Although they have been used on many subs for many years, the dome of a K-250 is not to present day standards.  It is a free blown bubble blown in a 1/2 inch thick sheet. It's not a cast dome.  As a result of blowing the dome it is thinner then 1/2 inch at the top.

The outside radius is 12 inches.

There is no flange on the dome.  It is just a half sphere.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] K-250 questions about the acrylic dome

Can someone with plans for the K-250 answer some questions about the acrylic dome:

1) Is the dome an ASME/ANSI PVHO hemispherical window with equatorial flange?
2) Dome outside radius ( Ro in ASME/ANSI PVHO nomenclature)
3) Dome thickness ( t)
4) If hemispherical viewport with equatorial flange, what is the flange width (M in ASME/ANSI PVHO nomenclature)
5) Flange thickness

Thanks in advance.
