Hello,
I came across your site and find it very interesting as I am in the process
of designing a diesel electric propulsion system for my 44' sailboat.
One area that I am running into problems with is finding a rectifier that
will work for converting the AC output from a diesel generator to DC for
powering the E-motor directly and charging the batteries.
I was wondering, if you had a moment, if you could explain how you deal with
this on your sub? Do you use a power factor corrected full wave bridge? If
not do think that it is necessary do to the negative effects of ripple/noise
on the other components?
Thanks,
Ben
