Peter,

Would it not be more simple to switch of all electric power before you flood
the sub. When you get into that kind of circumstances you will probably  not
be able to think very clearly. So maybe it is possible to make a
construction that forces you to switch of electricity before you can reach
the floodvalve.
I don't know much about electronics but i can imagine that a sensor could
activate a circuitbreaker.
