That sounds more like it. 
There are nice ones for sale on E-bay.  They are rated at 36 volts and at a continuous 80 amps with some room for short bursts of over that.  I bought one and tested it but haven't had it under full load yet.  It has no provisions for reversing though.  That you have to do on your own.  
 
These are new units manufactured some where in Europe.  They run about $80 US.  Look around and if you can't find it there, let me know and I'll dig for the info I have.

Thank you everyone for your help. But, thanks to an emberrassingly simple error of arithmetic, I came up with 250 amps, instead of the actual 50. So, I really don't need to scrap a forklift for this thing, instead, I'm hoping to put it into a small area about 6 inches cubed. Now I realize why it sounded like alot to me, even. Thanks--
