But air motors can be made self-oiling. However, you do bring up a valid concern.
The air would probably have to be dehumidified and oiled. You would also need a valve
or perhaps multiple valves on the exhaust. The whole air thing may not be worth it at
this time, but it is worth evaluating. By the way, my dad, who is a veteran mechanical
engineer says that a rand-cam engine can be made to run submerged on compressed air and
diesel. The ovious drawback is that this would be R&D pure and simple, since no one has
ever tried this to my knowledge.
