RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Movie comment.



In the special features of the DVD U-571, they give credit to the Brits
for having captured the first enigma machine, and interview the guy who
got it. The problem was, it was so secret that no one knew about it, and
therefore as each one was captured, that group thought they were the
first.

That makes sense.

Would that be likley to be true for the all sets?   "Run Silent Run
Deep*
was made on a fairly good model of a real Gato -- subsidized and 
designed by the Navy -- and there was a British movie which gave
its set to the Admiralty for training use.   Obviously, the more complex
sets are going to be rare.

Making U-571 must have been fun, in some ways.

My British buddies are still upset about the story line, though.
