[PSUBS-MAILIST] Lake Mead Sub tourism

Hi all!
Thanks for your responses to my topic. I was hoping
Carsten might have some input on this topic. I have
read everthing I could find on the Auguste Piccard. It
facinates me that such a large sub dove as deep as it
did with 40 passengers. I was at the Swiss expo in
1961 or 62, the submarine was not operating yet so my
parents bought me a post card of it. I wanted on that
sub so bad I thru a tantrum.

Tommorow I will be diving some wrecks with a towed
video camera for spotting. If I can make this happen a
psub experience can be had by all who visit Vegas!

I will be exploring a 42 ft. Chris Craft called the
Tortuga. I hear it is the most popular wreck at Lake
Mead. If the visibility is acceptable this may work
for sub tours. The depth is 35ft. but the lake is at a
very low level. It is down 75ft. from peak. The lake
level cycles every 7 years so it will be at a deeper
depth for the next few years.

The end of this month is the Dema convention in
Vegas. The Seamagine Submarine will be on display.
This is a great convention for psubers.
