This reminds me of an AIP idea I had once.  We know that
compost produces heat when it is, er, composting.  It can
produce heat for a few weeks.  The idea would be to hook
up a stirling engine to a compost vessel (seperate from the
human occulpied pressure vessel).  The main problem with the
idea is came when I discovered compost tends to only generate
200W per cubic meter of energy.

Maybe one day there will be a heat producing organism
that could be fed sugar in exchange it will generate
enough heat to run a stirling engine.

Far fetched ideas maybe.
