Drive it to the local highway truck scale on its trailer. Drive home, drop
off the sub, and go back to the scale with subless trailer. Sub is of course
the difference.

Haven't done it yet myself, but hope to be at that point in a few months.

How does one weigh one's sub?   Assuming I can't afford to have it
weighed at the junkyard (the only place nearby that has the equipment),
is there some clever way of using smaller (rented?) gear to do the same
job?
