Hi James,

If you are talking civilian subs it's agonizingly slow, I haven't heard of anything
that would run much faster than 10 or 12 knots.
Now, if you're talking Nukes the only speed, power and displacement data I
could find was on Russian subs and I don't know how accurate it was, but they
claimed 50+ knots.

 I've heard rumors that modern attack class subs are in the 70+ range.

Any of you old Navy guys able to shed any light on this subject?
