[PSUBS-MAILIST] oils for pressure compensating



I have used the following oils in transformer boxes on a few ROV projects:

These are intended primarily as static application electrical insulating oils,
but the viscosity may be low enough to use to pressure compensate an electric
motor - I've never done this myself.  This same oil is used in electrical juction
boxes, but clear mineral oil is sometimes used here, too.  As I recall, the
mineral oil was used wherever we had fiber optic terminations (probably because
of refractive index?).
