Hi, John:
        A good size for the bellows in the LS system that I described is
about 1 1/2" outside corrugation diameter by about 4" long. Typically, 
these  come with one end sealed and the other end open. You need to solder
( soft solder is OK) a  brass plug in the open end - this would be threaded
(male - straight) and have the plug-end knurled or castillated or fluted to
act as a handle/knob/gripper. If you don't have threading/machining
capability, find a  big brass nut and matching male fitting and 'cut and
paste'.
