One thought again, how do you want to check the sub for leaks? A added pressure gauge may be give you the information that something must be wrong but WHERE is it !?!?!

for my understanding the first sign for hull failure are some local ruptures in a welding only some micrometers large..... if you sprinkle some color powder or simply flour from the kitchen or talcum or foot powder over all weldings and seals or spray it in .... later its very aesy to find all the small leaks...

Thats very interesting if you only want to check your sub for the working deep (non destructive test)
