Dear shipmates –
My hull made it from Sunny California to frozen
With the help of my strong backed friends, we were able to
slide it into it’s new home on “my side”
of the garage.
On first inspection, I find it hard to believe that this sub
was ever in the water. It was built like Ron said as part of a resortsub hull,
but the 2 back windows were never cut in.
Instead, a large flat back window was cut in place. The hatch opens, but I can’t see
how it was ever water tight. The inside
is pretty barren, and I do not see that it ever had valves to flood the ballast
tanks.
Looks like I have quite a project on my hands.
Ideally, I will seal the very small back opening and have
the hatch be the only in/out access.
I have put pictures on the web tonight @ http://mysub.tripod.com .
I will submit a few to Ray for inclusion in our own webpage
(an honor).
I’m open to suggestions.
Most Sincerely,
Greg Snyder
