Laurent, thanks for the offer.  I think that would be very helpful.

Ken and I are going to try and hammer out the details for exactly
the type of controller cards that I need, and then we'll talk about
doing some pcb layout.  It would be much cleaner having a pcb than
trying to wire everything by hand.  And, I think that once you
have a design, getting the pcbs made isn't too costly (they can
even be homemade too).
