Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Question for Phil Nuytten

Hi, Tom:
Is this the same question that you sent me direct - ( that I was
not able to open)? The light guage stainless ballast tanks (saddle) were to
be used as both male molds and stainless liners for the ballast tanks. Yes,
the idea was to put them in place on the hull with the bottom of the tanks
butting against the rubrail stand-offs and glass them. You may wish to put
a PVA mold release on the hull or a layer of saran-wrap. If you glass the
tanks and right on over top of the hull 12 o'clock position ( that is,
glass from the bottom of the starboard tanks, up over the hull and down to
the bottom of the port tanks - you can then remove the ballast tanks in one
piece for hull inspection, painting, etc.If you're going to use the BT's
for a step, should be thick - at least a quarter inch - perhaps 5/16ths to
3/8ths. Heavy, tho'.
Please Email me off band - nrl@direct.ca I'd like to know how
you're doin' . . .
