RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Hull Calc Spreadsheet

As the author of that spreadsheet, let me be the first to say there are guarantees! I did however enter data in the spreadsheet that was calculated independently by other individuals, and found the results matched quite closely. However, bear in mind that most of the formulas are empirical and have significant deviations. Then there's things like fabrication problems, material imperfections, etc. Bottom line, I'm using a safety factor of 3 in my design, which is well above what would be used in the commercial or military field.

If you are interested in the formulas behind the spreadsheet, contact me offline and I'll get you scans.
