[PSUBS-MAILIST] Request for pressure factors difference GL/ABS

Hi friends,

I have here a table witch gives the factors you have to calculate
the pressure hull according to GL (Germanischer Lloyd) classification.

Please - I have not here the ABS rules for pressure hulls
under human occcupacion - maybe somebody is so nice to offer this
simillar rules for ABS to the group - I wish to learn if there is some
differences in the tables or calculation - or not.

Pn		Pp/Pn		Pz/Pn
Workdive	Test 		Destroy
pressure	pressure	pressure
(bar) 		 S1		S2

05  (164 ft)	1,70		3,20
10  (328 ft)	1,40		2,40
20  (656 ft)	1,25		2,00
30  (984 ft)	1,20		1,87
40  (1312ft)	1,20		1,80
50  (1640ft) 	1,20		1,76
>60 (1968ft)	1,20		1,73

or as formula :

S1 = 3/Pn + 1,1
S2 = 8/Pn + 1,6

Example to calculate :

Destroy deep of the Hull :
given with Pz = 395 meter (1295 ft)

and S2 = 8/Pn + 1 ,6 with S2 = Pz/Pn
we can write :

Pz/Pn = 8/Pn +1,6
and with Pz is known as 39,5 bar (1295 ft)
it looks like :

39,5/Pn = 8/Pn + 1,6
or
(39,5 - 8)/Pn = 1,6
or
31,5 / pn = 1,6
or
31,5/1,6 = Pn
or
19,7 = Pn equal to 197 m (646 ft)

Best regards Carsten.
