yeah, it isn't pretty! (G) fundementally you've got it  . . .the female
connector portion that the jacket goes into doesn't need to be such a large
diameter . .an 1/8" gap between the cable jacket and the wall of the
connector is plenty ( this is epoxy - filled) - more important is the
length of the epoxy contact with the jacket - a minimum of an inch - 11/2"
is better.
