I don't know about homebuilt al-you-minniums. The JSLs are alloy, and the 
outer skin on Deep Quest, and the hulls on Moray--none of which qualify for 
the home builder. The material is about 10X dollars per pound over steel. 
Phil has an aluminum design or two, and I love the material. The JSLs are 
dandy to work on, don't rust, don't care whether you wash them off or not, 
and been diving for 30 years. It is dandy stuff!
