RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Propane sub
Vance, that was the most eloquent post I've read in a long time! You really
had me chuckling, it was a great remedy for all the bickering and stupidity
we've had to put up with recently. I'm sorry I haven't had much time to post
recently, I'm too busy building.

Craig,
You're going about this the wrong way, bud. There is, your suspicions to the
contrary, a fair amount of experience available in this group. Some days,
there is a LOT of experience. That gets shared, or not, as the folks prefer.
Some days diamonds, some days coal, like the man said. I've butted heads a
time or two in here, and made some friends out of the deal, so I know
something about it. And the real deal is that we all suffer from some
variant
of a common ailment and are pretty happy about it. I might as well add that
those of us who have been out there professionally generally have some
specific things in common, aside from the obvious. This is something I
definitely know something about so, listen up.
One thing we don't much take to is a mouthy, self-proclaimed expert.
Especially one who we don't know and haven't judged by his or her work. I'm
sorry about it, but there it is. I don't give the tiniest pinch of rat shit
whether you like it or not. You blunder in here like you're royalty and
expect
... no, demand ... instant, obeisant servility from the peons, and then
berate them for the inevitable questions. That is unpleasant, uncivil and
unnecessary. We're happy to listen, available to bounce ideas off of, eager
to hear new stuff, and generally pretty civilized about it to boot. We don't
even mind the whiners, as long as they are polite about it.
So, you got new ideas and a plan? You got parchment on the wall that says
how
smart you are? You got brass? Fine. We're all for it. I don't care if you
got
attitude or avalanches or aardvarks. Just mind your manners--not much--just
a
little bit. We'd like to hear about the sub. We'd like to admire an
inventive
mind. We might even like to hold a vigil during the funeral services (if
required). And we'd like a little respect, damnit!
