Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] New opportunity
Hi Mike..
They told in there homepage : .. an authentic military submarine ..
and they lie.. I requested them some weeks before for the reason
- and get never a response ..
Its the old prototyp of the Seahorse class close cycle diesel typ.
Its driven by a close cycle diesel with a argon / lye system.
Its makes here test trials in Kiel, Germany at the end of the 80ies
and was in storage at Bruker Physik at Karlstruhe, Germany after
the test programm (payed from our goverment) stopped.
Its 14 m long, a true autonomus offshore submarine and never a military
sub. Its a bad base for a business to start with a lie.. some of
the pictures shows the crew during handling the sub
- 15 years old pictures.. have the same pictures in my broschures..
I was in the sistership with the convential diesel/electric drive
about 15 years before. And I was really impressed by this submarine
and a big picture of this sub is on my study room. Gaves me many
idears for my own sub - special the size.
I like really everything on the sub - without three main things -
first you can not stand upright in this sub -
only in the dome area were the hatch is.
Second - they use a hydraulic main drive and loss about 30%
of the storage power due to convert the battery/diesel power to
the hydraulic system.
At third, the reserve-bouancy (freeboard) on the surface is very
low. Its dives in here bow wave if you run on the surface more
than 6-7 knots.
I have every information of this sub here which ever was printed
including the general plans, cycle drawings, test reports,
main data sheet, test drive/dive video, price new and used etc..
I had have the possibility to purchase the sub two years before -
but it was to expensive for me. Also the argon / lye system it
much more complex than the CO2 close cycle system and more difficult
in handling and handle with the used lye - which is also expensive
to give to a special toxic waste place.
best regards, Carsten
