I guess it could have been red paint, but they do accumulate surface rust
during construction.
What I don't get is how the Colombian DEA made the connection with a drug
smuggling operation. I mean, this boat's being built hundreds of miles from
the nearest port; I didn't hear anything about any drugs or paraphenalia
being found at the construction sight; and to jump to the conclusion that it
was to be used for smuggling seems like a bit of a leap, doesn't it?
How do they know these guys weren't just a small group of extremely
enthusiastic homebuilt sub builders?
