And Dale: got your systems in yet? Seen the
motors spin? Put air through the ballast system? You must be getting
close to "the big day".
I too have been on holidays the past week.. and
working like mad on the sub too.. I am in the middle of reading all the
200+ e-mails..
I have the ballast tanks for my sub now..and the
front one in place. The frame is built, and everything is fitted.. I am not
going to seal it yet, until I am done the painting, but it looks good mounted on
there... The back one has to be repaired,(because it was cut in half for
shipping) and then I will make the frame for it, and fit it in place. I am
having trouble with the"claw " on the front, but I think I have
figured out how to make it work..I have put air through the air system inside,
and there is power in there now.. I have spun the motors, although they are not
mounted at the moment..I have had the dome on, and tightened down, and sat
inside and made "sub noises".. it is getting very close, but it
seems the finishing is taking the longest..I am going to try and take a few days
next week off as well, and see how much I can get done...I am sorry the pictures
that are posted are not up to date, but I'll try and get some others up
soon... I am still aiming for this fall sometime..but all my
timelines so far, have been not very accurate, as everything seems to be taking
twice as long now as I figure.....
and Carsten... Great news about your project.. I
am amazed at the size of your project, and wish you luck.. I would like to come
and see it, as I have always dreamt of one that size.. Perhaps in a couple of
years..
dale.
