" Now my question is: Could Carbon Fiber be used for a 1ATM sub?" It's far
far stronger than Fiberglass, about as easy to work and probably a bit
stiffer to boot, so it makes me think that it could be used for a 1ATM sub
unless I am missing something here. Anthony"

Hey Tony,

Well, you might want to check out Graham Hawke's DEEP FLIGHT submersible. I
think that was made of carbon fiber or the like. I haven't read up on that
particular boat for quite a while, but I seem to recall him saying it was a
question of making the hull in multiple layers (really thick); and I think
carbon fiber might require a pressurized autoclave to cure it out properly.
Not sure. Experts?
