I don't think that this would be a particularly effective tool for keeping track of the oxygen level in your sub. What these devices do is measure the percentage of saturated hemoglobin in your bloodstream. Anyone with reasonable cardiovascular fitness (good perfusion) has a saturation level of 99 to 100 percent at any given time. The human body is a remarkably efficient machine, and will maintain high levels of blood saturation even when inspired oxygen content begins to drop. In effect, it would be a reactive warning with too great a time lag, because by the time your blood oxygen level shows a decrease, you are probably already below 0.16 ATA partial pressure of oxygen in the cabin.

looking back a few days ago about the posting about interesting oxygen sites from Greg, the link http://www.avweb.com/articles/oximeter.html. is a very good portable oxygen sensor. it gives your oxygen level in your body, that translates to the level in the sub... what a great idea.. I want one.. what does everyone else use???
