Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Newbee to psubs...

Morning all,

Typically, diver lock-out subs use a trim system capable of carrying enough
water to compensate for both divers in the chamber. This puts the sub solidly
on the bottom when one is out working, and allows the second to egress
without delay in case of a problem. This saves hauling around Carsten's 100
kg. anchor. Most commercial DLOs and the JSLs at Harbor Branch, have deck
plates secured and sealed to a framework, using the lower portion of the
chamber as the tank. Plumbing is arranged so that slight changes in cabin
pressure control the volume of water. Very simple.

Best Regards,
Vance
